Last year, amidst a challenging housing market, we planned for a renovation project for our home's bathrooms. It was tough finding skilled professionals, but through a friend's recommendation, we met George Zhang, a licensed contractor. His ongoing projects appeared satisfactory, so we decided to hire his team, despite the high cost.
The demolition phase was quick, but it wasn't long before problems surfaced. George reported outdated plumbing, suggesting a complete overhaul. Trusting his advice, we agreed. However, as the renovation progressed, a slew of issues became apparent: incorrect basin heights, non-standard drain installations, improperly installed exhaust fans, and even reversed hot and cold water lines.
We addressed our concerns with George, who promised improvements but consistently made excuses, avoiding actual rectification. After paying over $40,000 upon completion of three bathrooms, we discovered cracks near the windows. Further inspection revealed that the supporting beams were improperly installed, causing these issues.
Negotiations led to George agreeing to redo the work, but the repairs damaged the interior tiles beyond repair. We were astonished to discover that the tiling used a 'dotting' technique, with less than 30% tile surface adhesive, risking tile detachment and mold growth.
Despite repeated discussions, George refused to re-tile and offered only temporary fixes. This destroyed our trust in his workmanship. We had no choice but to terminate the contract, asking for a refund and compensation, which he denied.
We then hired a new team to redo the work, uncovering more hidden issues: damaged wooden boards under the bathtub, unconnected exhaust ducts, and shoddy beam installations compromising structural integrity.
This experience taught us a painful lesson about the consequences of choosing the wrong contractor. We lost not just a significant amount of money but also endured immense stress and wasted time.

I am deeply disappointed with the services provided by George Zhang for our recent project. We engaged them based on the assurance that our design and plans would be meticulously followed, but unfortunately, our experience has been quite the opposite.
The work delivered by George Zhang has been consistently subpar and deviates significantly from the originally drafted design and plans. We made multiple attempts to communicate our concerns and provide feedback, offering them the opportunity to rectify the situation and bring the work up to industry standards.
Regrettably, George Zhang has not shown any willingness to accept fault for the deviations or take responsibility for their work. Their refusal to acknowledge the shortcomings and reluctance to make the necessary corrections in line with industry standards is disheartening.
As a customer, I believe in transparency and accountability in any business relationship. It's unfortunate that George Zhang has failed to uphold these values. I hope this review serves as a cautionary note for others considering their services.
I strongly advise potential clients to exercise caution when dealing with George Zhang, as our experience has left us with an outcome far from what was initially promised and expected.#Bathroom
